International Women’s Day: Meet the women behind OK! Beauty Box

International Women’s Day is all about celebrating the women who inspire us, uplift us and shape the communities we’re a part of, and here at OK! Beauty Box, we’re lucky enough to work alongside an incredible team of talented women who bring the brand to life every single day.

From sourcing the products you discover to designing the boxes, creating the content and working with beauty brands you love, every edition of OK! Beauty Box is the result of collaboration, creativity and a genuine passion for beauty.

So today, we wanted to introduce you to some of the amazing women behind the box, and share a little peek into their beauty worlds, too.

For International Women’s Day 2026, the theme “Give to Gain” highlights how uplifting and supporting women through mentorship, opportunity, and advocacy creates a space for more diverse voices and creativity to thrive. For us, giving recognition and opportunities to women shaping beauty, the industry gains innovation, confidence, and a stronger sense of community.

Meet Emily

Senior Brand Marketing & Partnerships Manager

“Like some of you, I've been here since the very beginning of OK! Beauty Box (5 years in fact!). I started my career as a retail make-up artist at MAC Cosmetics, where I developed a real love for helping people feel their best. Today, I help shape what goes into our boxes and how we bring them to life - making sure every delivery feels special and worth opening.”

What is your go-to beauty routine right now?

“My go-to routine right now is a quick 7-minute fresh face (yes, really - I’ve timed it!). With a one-and-a-half-year-old at home, time is definitely of the essence, so I rely on products I know and trust that work hard.

After finishing my morning skincare - always ending with SPF (a non-negotiable for protecting your skin and keeping it looking youthful) — I start with a quick lash curl. Spoiler alert: this must-have tool might just be making an appearance in an upcoming box…

Then I add a couple of coats of L'Oréal Paris Paradise Big Deal Mascara, which I fell in love with in our Advent Calendar with Hannah Martin last year. Next, I sweep MAC’s Warm Soul Mineralize Blush through the crease of my eyes and buff it onto the apples of my cheeks for a soft hint of colour. 

To finish, I line and fill my lips with delilah’s Lip Pencil in Pout (a favourite I discovered in Hannah’s very first beauty box with us in 2023), and add a slick of Vitamasques Lip Oil, which I fell for after it featured in our viral TikTok Shop beauty box last year.”

Senior Beauty Marketing & Partnerships Executive

Yes, it’s a long title, and yes, I’m super proud of it! I basically get to be creative for a living. I source and test products, chat to brands, including some I’ve been obsessed with since I was young, and dream up the themes and write the copy too. You’ve definitely read my words before now! It’s a mix of creativity, curiosity and a lot of beauty chat - and I genuinely love every busy second.”

What is your go-to beauty routine right now?

I can genuinely say that every single product in my evening skincare routine has been discovered through OK! Beauty Box - some of them from boxes that haven’t even launched yet. 

My holy grail product - and the very first step in my routine - actually takes me right back to the first box I ever worked on three years ago: Balance Me’s Tri-Molecular Hyaluronic Serum. Before I even scrape out the last drop, it’s back in my basket.

I love it so much that in the brand’s end-of-year survey, I made a very specific request for them to please consider selling it in a super-sized, bucket-level version (only slightly dramatic). Since using it, my skin is more hydrated, brighter, and just looks so much more even overall.”

Ecommerce Content Marketing Executive

Hey, I’m Alicia, AKA the content queen! I look after all of our social media activity, creating content about how the products in the beauty boxes work and why we love them so much!  I also help with our marketing campaigns and work with influencers. I studied English Lit at University (can you tell? I wrote this blog!) I am beauty/make-up/skincare obsessed, and I have a passion for helping people feel confident in every way, so I feel so lucky that at OK! Beauty Box I get to combine all of my favourite things to help you feel beautiful both inside and out.”

What is your favourite product right now and the 3 products you grab when you’re running out the door?

That's a tough question, my favourite product changes all the time but the one I keep coming back to is the Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base - I actually got this in my beauty advent calendar by Hannah Martin and I'd never used it before. It has absolutely changed my make-up game; I am obsessed.

I cannot leave the house without these 3 products right now:

A Lip gloss/lip mask always, right now it's the Gatineau Defi Lift Volumising Peptide Lip Treatment. I love how hydrated my lips feel especially in the colder months, plus it is a quick hack to put a lip look together - you can wear it alone, or layer over your favourite lip liner or lip stick. 

A Translucent setting powder, personal favourite is the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder which I got in my Hannah Martin Beauty Advent Calendar. 

And a blush stick, the one in my handbag right now is the Sophia + Mabelle blush stick in shade blossoming that I got in one of my monthly OK! Beauty Boxes.”

As Head of Lifestyle across Reach’s national titles including OK!, Mirror and Express, I oversee a brilliant team creating beauty, fashion, shopping and homes content at scale. I'm also a proud Mum to Bonnie and Arthur - a role that keeps me practical, time-poor and very picky about what really works.”

What’s the best beauty tip you ever received?

“I turn forty this year, and I've noticed a massive shift in my hormonal skin (hello severe dry patches). I was with a makeup artist who introduced me to a cream bronzer/blush and changed how I apply, basically, use your fingers and dab. Plus, she reminded me of the importance of a good Primer to give you a smooth base and make your other products even more effective. This was a game-changer for me, and I now live by these tips.”

I was thrilled to be part of the official launch of The OK! Beauty Box back in 2020, and I’ve been working as a creative across all aspects of the brand ever since. From the initial branding, to designing print adverts and box inserts, promotional content and any other design assets the team needs, I’m your girl!

The part I have loved most about my role is developing shoot concepts and creating mood boards for new launches. Collaborating with the team and our resident photographer is always such a creative process. I’ve especially enjoyed working on our previous collaborative boxes with beauty gurus - they’re always such exciting projects to be part of.”

Favourite OK! Beauty Box?

My favourite Beauty Box has to be the Limited Edition Bryony Blake & Poppy Wellard Edit from May 2024. 

Developing the concept for that one was such an enjoyable experience, and I couldn’t be happier with how the ‘Photo Booth’ theme came together.

I also adored the products Bryony and Poppy’s box included. I’m a sucker for a bold lip, and the Emolyne Cosmetics lipstick was the perfect orangey red. Rodial is one of my favourite brands that we work with, and the Dragon’s Blood Hyaluronic Night Cream is perfect for my sensitive skin. The luxurious, high-end products, teamed with the fun imagery, made for a dreamy result all around!.”

3 products you grab when running out the door?

I never leave the house without a hydrating lipbalm, a powder bronzer and a body mist or perfume - usually something fresh and clean that makes me feel instantly more put together.”

Ecommerce Integrated Marketing & Content Manager

I oversee our content strategy and bring our ads to life. This involves dreaming up ideas, writing scripts, and collaborating with influencers and designers to create the content you see. Then I send it out into the world (aka your social feeds) and monitor how beauty lovers respond. So I’m part creative brain, part data nerd.”

Beauty advice?

“Beauty should feel FUN. With so many products and so much advice out there, it can feel overwhelming. But at the end of the day, the best routine is the one that makes you feel good. Discover, experiment, try new things… but always in search of what brings you the most joy.”
