Three ways to use a body oil for glowing skin this winter

As well as shorter daylight hours and freezing temperatures, the winter months can take a toll on our skin, too.

But while many of us have our facial skincare routines nailed, a lot of us are guilty of neglecting our bodycare. It’s just as important to regularly moisturise the skin on our bodies as it is our faces to keep it soft, happy and healthy.

How to Use Body Oil:

Thankfully there are so many great options to choose from, from lotions to creams and oils. Below we’ve broken down three different ways to use a luxurious body oil in your regime this winter.

On damp skin

When your skin is damp after a bath or shower, it’s more receptive to moisturiser and will soak up softening ingredients with ease. To get the most out of your body oil, apply it once you’ve towel dried your skin for a nourishing treat.

Mix with highlighter for an ethereal glow

Who said highlighter had to stop at the face? Adding a little out-of-this-world glow to your skin is the best way to finish off a killer outfit (if you’re brave enough to bare some skin this winter, that is). Mix a bit of your favourite highlighting powder in with a body oil and apply to areas where the light naturally catches for a little added shimmer.

Amp up your regular body moisturiser

Adding a few drops of oil to your regular body moisturiser is a great way to make it that little bit more nourishing in the winter months. Mix it up in your palms and apply as usual.

If you're after a multipurpose body oil, you’ll get a gorgeously scented number by Paul Yacomine London plus four other winter beauty products in this month’s Winter Wonderland OK! Beauty Box.
